Harlequins are running a summer camp at Imber Court for the first time this year.

The Harlequins Summer Camps have been developed for the 2018 Summer Holidays and are suitable for young people aged U7-U14 and available for all Rugby abilities. The camps structure and sessions have been developed with the Harlequins Academy to sit in line with the new age grade rugby rules of play, to ensure that the player’s wellbeing and enjoyment are our main focus. The sessions will be tailored to the specific needs of your child’s group, game related and player centred. These sessions will be delivered by our vastly experienced community coaches who all are minimum RFU level 2 qualified and hold a valid first aid certificate as well as a RFU DBS.

The camps provide the opportunity for young people to learn to Play the Harlequins Way. The Harlequins Way has been filtered down from our professional squad to our community coaches and allows us to deliver sessions using the same playing ethos: TRUE.
We play with Tempo, we’re Ruthless in every contest. Our game is Unpredictable. And, we Enjoy ourselves.

The content of the sessions will focus on the fundamentals of handling, creation, identification and execution of space, tackle technique, continuity in attack and defensive organisation. All these skills are taught through small sided games suitable for each age group, progressing over the duration of the camp. We believe that improving each individuals’ core skills and understanding of the game will allow them to develop as a rugby player and allow them to continue on their journey to reach their full potential.

As well as receiving expert coaching, all participants on our camp will receive a free Harlequins gift, a chance to win Harlequins prizes and an exclusive invitation to a Harlequins training session to meet the players.
