Decent game last weekend despite the score. With 8 changes from the team who started against Feltham, we were always going to need to switch on quickly in order to gain some parity of organisation and knowledge of each other’s game.
In the second half however we definitely came together more and the reward was a well-worked try for Alex Mercer. You’re never taking another drop kick conversion though Alex!
A second half score of 12-5 was probably a fair reflection of the difference between the two teams and it was great to see the spirit among the guys right up to the end of the game.
On a sadder note, Saturday was Alex Agostinho’s last game for a while as he swaps freezing London for the warmer weather of 6 months in Australia.
Alex joined the club this season having barely picked up rugby ball before and has quickly become one of the 1st XV regulars. He’s come on leaps and bounds this season and I’m chuffed that he has promised to come back in the Autumn.
Plus he was the fastest guy to neck his man of the match pint so we taught him something!
