Looking to get revenge for the loss in the pre season friendly Harlequins were quietly confident after playing some good rugby in the preceding matches.
However with Staines 1st team having a weeks break in the league the team that turned up was not very similar to team Quins played a month ago.
Quins pack that has much dominance so far in the league were effectively nullified, and with Staines boasting a superior back line with several first team players, Staines scored early and regularly with their Outside Centre socring most of the points, probably as good a player as most of us would have played against.
The second half saw Staines make numerous substitutions, which led to Quins gaining a lot of pocession and terriory, which was sustained for a long period of time. This told in Rob Greenwood keeping up his good form with a very good finish to score in the corner after a well worked move.
This spooked Staines a bit so they reintroduced a lot of their first team players that were subbed off. The balance swung once again to the opposition who closed out the game deserved winners.
