Quins Record Second Away Win

First of all I would like to apologise for this match report being so late.

To say Whitton's ground is hard to find may not be the whole truth, as several of our team got lost on the way. Arriving we found that along with the rugby match there was also a football match meaning that there wasn't enough changing rooms for all teams.

As a result we ended up getting changed in the adjoining squash courts, butting in £2 at a time to keep the lights on, good start.

Dave Samuel was unable to attend the match as he was busy coaching one of his many other teams, luckily Rob was around and so away we went.

On paper it should have have been easy day for Quins but a lack of depth in the team and a lack of focus meant that we made the match very hard for our selves.

In attack we were reasonable, the pack much stronger than the opposition allowed Andy Crew to pick up from the back of two 5m scrums so score a brace early on.

In defence however Quins were poor, missing a lot of tackles and generally giving away territory to the huge boot of Whitton's full back. Due to this poor defence Whitton were also scoring tries.

At half time Rob banged our collective heads together, and the beginning of the second half was telling as Quins started to concentrate and play better rugby, the back got in on the action with some lovely offloading to open up the opposition. Quins opened up a commanding lead, but inexplicably the concentration waned once more and Quins let in two soft tries in quick succession.

Fortunately enough had been done to secure the away victory and get the points.
