A friendly was set up to play Sutton & Epsom 4th XV after a lot of hard work we managed to get a team out on a day England were playing New Zealand.
When we arrived however we were greeted not by the what we would normally think of as a 4th team, and it soon dawned on us that it was a club side, featuring a mix of 3s and 2s with a few 1s thrown in for good measure.
Quins lost the toss and so kicked off playing into the sun. Sutton & Epsom quickly went over after breaking the line and some good offloading, we could tell it was going to be a long game.
In such a smashing I'm not going to recount every try we conceded, but despite the scoreline there were some real positives. Our scrum not only held its own but we won 2 against the head. The forwards in general had a very good game going toe to toe with a team of a much higher standard.
We return to the league fixtures this week. So we need everyone at training and making themselves available for Saturday so we can get a good run of results before the Christmas break.
