Quins play the better rugby but are undone by poor discipline and an accurate boot from London Welsh

Quins set for their first actual league match after the walk over last week started well at home. Pinning London Welsh down in their own half for a good length of time playing the best rugby of the season so far, with some high intensity forwards play coupled with some fast paced back play led to some early inroads.

The pressure told as London Welsh conceded a couple of penalties in their 22. Buoyed by the good rugby being played Quins opted for a scrum, unfortunately both scrums were lost again the head and London Welsh were able to clear their lines.

Towards the end of the half Quins conceded a couple of penalties in their own half which were punished by London Welsh, so Quins went into the half 0-6 despite being the most threatening team on the pitch.

In the second half London Welsh changed their tactic as the played a much more forward orientated direct game that Quins were guilty of not adapting to quick enough.

After spotting a gap behind the defence Jake Daniels gave a long kick into London Welsh's half being chased down by Jake Daniels and James Corbishley, Jake fly hacked it on but was taken out, leaving JC to touch down in the corner, the conversion was missed.

The rest of the second half was a lot of the same with silly penalties being punished by the very accurate boot of Will Childs. London Welsh got a try of their own through some sustained pressure. But Quins hit back with a great finish for Rob Greenwood down the wing.

The final score of 10-22 did not represent the match, Quins scored 2 tries to 1 and probably should have scored more. After the match Dave S said we butchered 3.5 tries.

Quins played some very good rugby at times but weren't clinical enough to capitalise on it. There were some very encouraging signs though that show this season good be excellent.]
