Blow Out Sets Quins On Their Way

After very encouraging signs last week Quins headed up to Harrow to play SODAM. For some reason a lot of forwards were unavailable, but after a bit of bribing we managed to get Karl Booth out of 1st XV retirement to prop up one side of the scum for us.

Looking at the results we thought that this would be a match that we should win.

It started very well by reclaiming the restart, after a couple of phases we had created an overlap and we put it through the hands to score in the corner.

After this it was obvious that this was a mismatch in teams as every attacking attempt resulted in huge ground gains and eventually tries. I'm not going to go through all the scores but from our count we scored 16 tries 12 conversions, the try scorers have been recorded on the website.

There were moments of great interplay during the game reminiscent of a classic barbarians match. we have to say welcome back to Ash who managed to score 2 trys but more impressively passed the ball for other people to score.

A welcome to Quins to George, James and Simon who made their debuts with 2 trys for George and 1 for Simon.

We have to say a huge credit to SODAM, knowing from last season what it's like to be on the end of such scorelines, they played hard all the way up to the final whistle managing to score from a 5m drive.

Next week we have Staines at home which will be a much sterner test, but if we play like we have for the last two matches then we can and will win. We need everyone down at training this Wednesday so please make sure you make yourself available for Wednesday and Saturday.
